KBA Media Studies A2
Construction

| I started by opening up Premiere Pro and importing footage and audio. |
![]() |
| I then added my music, New Love- Arlissa, into the audio. |
![]() |
| I began to add my footage from the first setting, the park. |
![]() |
| As I started to add my footage, I played around with filters such as Black and White, as I knew I wanted to make it extremely clear when distinguishing between the past and present. |
![]() |
| I continued to add footage and add filters. |
![]() |
| Then I began to add my footage from the other setting I used, outside in the snow. I also added a Colour and Contrast in order for the footage to stand out and look brighter. |
![]() |
| I repeat my steps by adding footage and editing it as I go along as I find this easier. |
![]() |
| I decided to edit in the order of how the music video would flow as I would be able to manipulate footage if I needed to. This way also enables me to envision the overall product. |
![]() |
| I then added in the footage of the final setting I used, my garden. |
![]() |
| I added more footage and altered the Brightness and Contrast. |
![]() |
| I added the Black and White feature to this footage as I am going to use a split-screen to emphasise the past and present. |
![]() |
Different footage has to be manipulated more and less than others due to natural lighting (or lack of)![]() |
![]() |
| With the outside shots, I made sure that the actors stood out. This was supported by the factor of costume within mies-en-scene as the yellow stood out on the camera. |

| Add caption |
![]() |
| I continued to edit the footage in the similar style to others, depending on the setting and the tone I would like it to portray. |
![]() |
I used a low angle to portray the dominance within the abusive relationsip. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() |
| I added a fade at the end of the music video as it looks more authentic and professional. |
![]() |
| I then went back through my footage and Colour Corrected any videos that needed enhancing. |

![]() |
| Lastly, I added video effects I had learnt from YouTube in order to fully distinguish the past and present. This worked well alongside the back white. |
![]() |
I also incorporated a split-screen into my music video so that the audience can see the past and present as opposites.![]() |

| Here is the complete construction of my music video. |
Planning: Filming Schedule
The majority of filming for my music video footage will be taken on the 8th of February as this is a day that all of the cast are free. The filming will start around 1:00pm, and the first location will be at the Pleasure Park in Kettering. The shots that are filmed at this location will be taken first as lighting is a large issue when recording footage as I do not want the background lighting to change as this may impact the continuity.

Once we have finished at the Pleasure Park we will go to the next location which is my house. This is second in priority as lighting can be altered by using alternate angles and different locations within the house. At an estimation, we could possibly arrive at my house around 2pm/2:30pm. The footage at my house will not take long as the scenes are short, yet I will make sure that I have all the footage that I need plus extra just as a precaution.
Due to time constraints, I am aiming to finish my filming around 3:30pm as one of the cast members have work.
On the following day, I am hoping to shoot the rest of my footage as this location is based in school and I do not have enough time to fit it all on one day. However, this will not affect my continuity as the location is indoors, in the Theatre. White paper will be placed underneath and behind a series of mirrors. This footage should take around an hour, as this is arguably one of the most difficult locations. it can be proven to be difficult as do not want to see myself in the reflection, therefore I need time to reshoot and possibly think of different ways to use this location.

Costume and Mise-en-scene Planning
Costume:
Max Ryan (Will) Costume
This character has basic and simple costume as I aim to illustrate that the couple are 'ordinary' and 'normal', this is until the abuse is introduced. The white top produced connotations of such purity and innocence, one that there is a lack of in the other character, Mike. This suggests that Will is not at fault. In relation to mise-en-scene, the element of make-up is important for this role as it will help portray the idea of physical abuse. I will use makeup to bruise Max's face, this will be used in all locations but only in certain shots. The props used for this character will photos and I will also be using fire.

Sam Thomson (Mike)
I have allocated dark colours for the role of Mike, as this implies a dark and sinister nature, one of which is seen later on in the music video. Yet, I have still chosen clothing that is common and conventional of one in this generation. Mise-en-scene is not a part of this role, there will be no makeup or props for this character.
